[30] Survival Kit

[30] Survival Kit
Not sure why you would need one, but they're a handy thing to have, because you never know, maybe one day, you just want to grab a bag and run away for a day, or just hop on the bus or train and see where you end up, or maybe one day you will actually be put in a serious situation where you'll need one, you never know.
Either way, you should pack one anyway, and keep it safe and accessible.

Here's some things you might want to include:

-water

-mobile (I feel a bit silly putting this one your list, because you should always take your phone with you, no matter what. Even if you're just going to your back garden, take it with you!)

-money (And if you have any, credit cards, bank cards, etc)

-keys (For your car, house, locker, etc)

-chapstick/ vaseline (You can use this on chapped lips or just dry skin)

-moisturiser (a small bottle/ tub)

-wipes (not a big jumbo packet of wet ones!)

-pads/ tampons

-change of underwear

-jacket (With a hood, incase of rain/ snow/ etc)

-hat/ sunglasses (to keep the sun off you)

-chewing gum

-breath mints & floss

-bobby pins and hair ties (you should just always slip a hair tie around your wrist in the morning, and maybe slide a spare bobby pin or two onto the edge of your shirt or something)

-small notepad and pencil

-roll on deoderant (not a big huge bottle, travel light!)

-band aids/ gauze

-hand sanitizer

-tissues

-tweezers (not just for eyebrows, they can remove wood splinters, insect stingers, anything in your eye, etc)

-mini nail file (can't stress the importance of carrying one of these suckers with you everywhere, because when you don't have one, you need one)

-snack bar (just incase you have no money for food, you'll need something to keep you going)

And remember, always pack lightly. Mini bottles of lotion, etc.

Seriously, if you have a car, make one of these asap, and throw it in your glove compartment or under a seat. My brother has always had a little first aid kit and then another little kit for survival in his car, ever since he learned to drive!

Enjoy♥

[29] Tips to: Naturally Whiten Teeth

[29] Tips to: Naturally Whiten Teeth
Ok, sorry I never update this anymore! And secondly, these aren't my own tips, they're just less widelyl known tips to help whiten teeth without buying expensive products.
-------------------------

-Mash strawberries into your teeth. The antibodies in strawberries contain natural bleaching agents which help to whiten teeth.

-Rud the inside of a banana peel over your teeth before brushing. Banana peel has similar natural agents, but you need to wait a few minutes before brushing your teeth so that the agents have a chance to work.

-Eating naturally crunchy fruits and vegetables will help to whiten your teeth naturally, for similar reasons.

-Cheese and other dairy products help re-mineralize enamal, because they contain calcium and phospherous (not really natural, but still)

-(not natural, but anyway) Dip your toothbrush in baking soda and brush, then follow with your normal brushing regime. This should be done every day, but I think it might have some sort of down side, because nothing is ever truly good for you (aside from tumblr)

Ok, they're the only ones I can think of, but I'm sure there are many more. Hope you enjoyed this really short tip!

[28] Pudding Pops Recipe!

[28] Pudding Pops Recipe!
Again, this is a very basic recipe, that is extremely simple (and not costly) to make, that you can adjust however you like!

Ingredients;
-pudding
-wooden sticks
-any fruit, candy, decorations, sauces, etc you might want to add

Instructions;
-Make pudding according to directions on packet.
-If you want, line the mould with sundae sauce, chopped nuts, sprinkles, or any other decorations you want.
-Pour into ice lolly moulds (or just plastic cups) and place wooden lolly stick in each pudd.
-If you want, put some candies or small chucks of fruit inside the pudd (if you're using fruit, poke it onto the stick and then put it into the pudding, making sure the fruit is completely covered)
-Freeze until solid (you can refridgerate, but it takes way longer)
-Place in fridge to thaw, then remove from mould by setting the cup in hot water (the pop might get a little runny at the edges if the water is too hot, but it should slide out easily)
-You can use sundae sauce or melted chocolate to add decorations, or just eat it how it is!

Again, this is great for little siblings, and is super easy to make, although because you have to freeze the pops, it's a little time consuming!

Have fun + enjoy!

[27] Recipe: Dirt/ Mud Cups
This recipe is simple, fun, quick and so yummy! You can change it to however you want it; this is just my idea for it!

Ingredients;
-Oreos
-Gummy worms
-Chocolate pudding

Instruction;
-Make pudding according to directions on packet.
put in fridge to chill.
-Crush oreos roughly.
-Set 1-2 cups of pudding aside.
-Stir in half the oreos with the remainder of the pudding in large bowl (you can either serve in from the large bowl, or make in individual cups)
-Mix the other half of the oreos with the rest 2 cups of pudding and pour on top of other pudding mixture (the bottom of the mixture should be more pudding-ey than crumbly, and the top should be more crumbly than pudding-ey)
-Place the gummy worms poking out from the top and serve chilled.

Ok, this is so simple and versitile and cheap and easy and quick that I expect everyone with younger siblings to rush of and make this, okay?

PS. sorry about any terrible spelling/ grammar, I pre-wrote this tip on sticky notes on my laptop when my internet was down last week!

Enjoy♥

[26] How to: clip from Facebook

[26] How to: clip from Facebook
Ok, so we all know most people clip from Tumblr, except it takes ages to upload a picture to tumblr, and then for the clipper to open, when you clip from Facebook, you can upload multiple pictures at once and the clipper tool works quicker.
I read a tip before on how to clip from facebook, but it didn't seem to work for anyone, and by chance I accidentally found a different way of doing it.
The other way included removing part of the link and copying shortcuts and such, and this way is far simpler!

O1
Upload pictures to facebook

O2
Click on desired pictures to open

O3
Right click the opened picture and click 'Add to favourites...' near the bottom of the list and save the picture to your favourites (on a Mac, you can just press Ctrl and click normally to right click, I think)

O4.
Find the picture in either your favourites bar along the top, or from the drop down list under the favourites button and open it

O5.
Now open your clipper tool and simply clip it as normal!

This does not redirect to your facebook profile, the redirect is to literally just the picture, not on facebook, but from were you clipped it from (it's something like fbcdt or similar for the url)
It is alot simpler if you try it for yourself, and so little to have to remember.

Also, those two pictures I just clipped from my personal facebook in less than the time it would take me to uload one of the pictures to tumblr!

I wrote these myself, and I haven't seen anyone else figure this out before, so please, do not steal this.
Thanks!

[22] Halloween Costume Idea: Cookie Monster
First off, I'm really sorry for neglecting this account, but I've been busy with school work and stuff! But I'm gunna try and do some Halloween tips and stuff over the next couple of weeks!
And sorry for the bad set too.
------------------

[Idea 1]

Clothing:
-blue shirt (you can get a cookie monster shirt or just a plain one)
-blue bottoms (legging, trousers, blue skinny jeans, etc)
-blue or white shoes (any kind, converse, vans, heels, boots, etc)
-blue headband or ribbon (you can make some ears and attach them using some schunched up blue paper and just tape them to the headband)

That one was pretty simple, for people who aren't very creative or good with crafts. It's a pretty simple outfit too, so odds are you'll have some of the thing you need at home. Just grab a brown paper bag, fill with cookies and spread the treats!

[Idea 2]
For this idea, you will need access to a sewing machine or the ability to hand sew. You will also need a few hours to get this right!

To make the costume you will need;
-blue fabric with a towel like texture (if you live in UK, here is a link to buy it online: http://www.sewingworld.co.uk/Fleece_Fabrics.html it's the blue one)
-scissors
-sewing machine/ needle and thread
-pencil

[O1] Place the fabric with the fluffy side down onto a large flat surface. Take a pair of shorts (whatever lenght you want) and set them on the material near the bottom. Place a shirt or cami onto the material, leaving a gap between them about 5 inches thick (this is to make sure it fits).

[O2] Draw around your shorts and shirt to make the shape of a romper. It should be a few inches big and like an inch or two wider than you.

[O3] Once you are sure it will fit, cut around it carefully with scissors. It doesn't matter if you make rough cuts as they will be hidden.

[O4] Use this as a template to make the other side of the costume, by placing it on the other bit of fabric, drawing around it and then cut it out too, and you should have two pieces of fabric the same size.

[O5] Place one side on a flat surface, with the fluffy side facing up, and place the other piece directly on top of it, this time with the fluffy side facing down, so that the plain side of the first piece is against the flat surface, and the plain side of the top piece is facing upwards.

[O6] Either hand sew along each side, using a needle and thread, or use your sewing machine to seal from the bottom of the shorts, the whole way up the side to the armpit on both sides. Don't seal the shorts closed because your legs need to go through the wholes, and same with the arms. Go over the stitching once or twice.

[O7] Turn it in the right way, and hold it up to make sure it fits you.

[O8] Now sew between the arm and neck hole on each side, and between the leg holes, amking sure to go over the stitching once or twice.

[O9] Try your outfit on and make sure it fits you. It should be a romper and the fur should be facing outward.

Extras;

You can add blue underneath for warmth, a long sleeved blue top, blue leg warmers, etc.
Wear with blue or white shoes.
To give it a more fitted look, wrap a blue or white belt around it.

Hood or headband:
(if you have extra material)

For the headband, take a plain plastic headband (a thick one) and glue some fabric along it. Take two pieces of fabric, bunch them up and glue them to the headband as little ears (although he doesn't actually have any)

For the hod, just take a piece of fabric, hold it to one side of your head, mark where it reaches the back of your head at the centre, the top of your head and the front of it near your ears.
Make sure there is some fabric hanging down your neck towards the top of your back.
Cut it out about 3 inches out from your marks as you need it to be loose and use this as template to make another piece the exact same.
Sew them together where they meet along the middle of your head, from front to back.
It should be long at the back and too big for you, which is what you want

Hair and make up;

Tie your hair up and pin it back out of the way.
Place your head band in your hair or cover it with your hood.
You could probably get a blue snood or infinity scarf and wrap it around your head.

For makeup, stick to simple make up, and apply lots of white eyeshadow and even eyeliner.
If you want, you can face paint your face blue, and put some white around your eyelids to give the big white circles the cookie monster has for eyes!

REMEMBER!
You can't be the cookie monster without cookies, so a fun idea is to fill a brown paper bag with cookies and walk around carrying them (while eating one) and share them with others!

[21] Braids

One year ago - 675 views
[21] Braids
*requested*

[o1] The 3 Strand Braid-
this is just a standard braid, using three strands, and is relatively simple to master. Here's how:

-Choose a section of hair you want to braid, or you can just braid all of your hair at once.
-Seperate the section into 3 even strands.
-Pull the right strand over the middle strand, and drag the middle strand to the right beneath the right strand.
-Pull the left strand over the new middle strand, and pull the middle strand to the left under the left strand.
-Continue this pattern until there isn't enough hair left to braid, and secure with a hair tie.

[o2] The Lauren Conrad Braid-
http://www.polyvore.com/beauty_buzz_easy_hairstyles_braid/thing?id=2943960
this braid is best done in your side bangs, or with a side part, and looks great with curly, wavy, or straight hair. Here's how:

-Put your hair into a side parting.
Grab a small section of hair from near the parting and seperate into 3 sections.
-Pull the right piece over the middle piece, pulling the middle piece to the right beneath the right piece.
-Pull the left piece over the new middle piece, pulling the middle piece to the left beneath the middle piece.
-Continue braiding this way, but before you braid each strand, add a small section of hair from the outside of the braid.
-Once you get to the end of your bangs, which should still be above your ear, secure the braid using a bobby pin, then place another bobby pin over it in a different direction, to secure it.

[o3] The French Braid-
http://www.polyvore.com/samis_french-braid_piggy-tails/thing?id=39261119
This is a similar braiding technique to the Lauren Conrad briad, except that you don't use bangs and it ends as a normal 3 strand braid. Here's how:

-Grab a small section of hair from the centre of your head, at the back (or at the side if you want).
-Seperate this section into 3 strands.
-Begin braiding as normal, like in the first two briads.
-The same as the LC braid, add more hair to each strand before braiding each time.
-Once you get to the end of your head, you won't be able to add more hair to the strands, and all your hair should be evenly seperated into the 3 strands.
-Continue braiding like in the 3 strand braid, until you read the end of your hair.
-Secure with a hair tie.

[o4] The Fishtail Braid-
http://www.polyvore.com/fishtail_braid_how_to_real/thing?id=27320875
this braid is really summery, and is sometimes known as the mermaid braid, and it's easier to do than it looks! Here's how:

-Grab the hair you want to braid, and seperate into two sections (left section = A . right section = B).
-Grab a thick section of hair, about a quarter of the size of the strand, from the outside of strand A, and pull it over to strand B.
-Grab a section the same size from the outside of strand B and pull it over to strand A.
-Take a small (the smaller the strand, the neater the braid, although it takes longer with smaller strands) strand from the outside of strand A, and drag over to strand B.
-Take a section the same size from the outside of strand B and drag it over to strand A.
-Continue the two previous steps with the same size of strand the whole way down, and after a while, the strands that you cross over will begin to appear seperately from their strand.
-Once you reach the end of the stand, secure with a small hair elastic.

I will do another tip soon, explaining how to do the waterfall braid, which again, isn't as hard as it looks.
Thanks for reading :)
